Contract Journal Awards - One Call Hire wins the 'Plant Hire Company of the Year Award'

One Call Hire Ltd was chosen from a record breaking number of entries as the winner of the Plant Hire Company of the Year Award.

Finalists in this category needed to show that they were proactive in determining their customers' needs and capable of developing added value. They were also required to supply details of investment in the plant fleet, and of their management team's commitment to maintenance, reliability, training and safety.

In 2007, One Call Hire saw its turnover increase by 43% to ?14.0 million. The group invested more than ?19 million in new machinery and maintained a fleet age profile of 13 months. The company has also opened two new depots, bringing the total number to six.

One Call Hire uses new technology to help cut customer down-time and to keep track of kit performance. The company has an enviable safety record - they have never had a RIDDOR accident and their reportable injury rates are amongst the lowest in the industry.
